When media artist Toshio Iwai and Yamaha decided to collaborate on a new instrument for the 21st century, Tenori-on was born – a 16x16 matrix of LED switches controlling a powerful sound engine that allow everyone to play music intuitively.

Tenori-on is a fusion of sound and music, but first and foremost it’s a revolutionary hands-on instrument, a tactile way of controlling sound, and a way of quickly sequencing complex musical arrangements.
